Muse is a music and podcast streaming service and they are looking for a fresh interface design for their new app. The challenge that Muse faces is to encourage the user to explore artists easily without getting lost in their extremely large database of content. Therefore, they need the design to be clear and functional whilst remaining aesthetically on-trend. Muse is going up against competitors such as Spotify and Youtube, so they will need their own identity to be bold and recognisable.

Muse has requested specifically to see an artist profile page for the presentation (using any artist of your choice). Be bold and think outside the box – but remember that whatever you design for the artist of your choice must be adaptable enough to work for any other artist in the future of the design. 

Secondly, they want to see a design for the music player as this will be an extremely important element to the app.

Remember to consider that these two screens must work together in harmony. It’s important to keep some UI elements the same throughout such as the logo position, menus and navigation, type styles, colours and font sizes, buttons etc. You may want to begin by sketching some wireframes to get an idea of your layout. 

To maintain consistency, a UI guide is also required. This is a guide of all the individual elements, type rules, colour codes, buttons etc. that make up the designs (or user interface), all in one document. This would then be used by their in-house team to roll the designs out across the whole app. 

When presenting your final designs, it's important to find an appropriate mockup that can really help the client to gauge an idea of what the app will look like in situ.
