Brief overview
A charity dedicated to protecting the ocean is looking to commission a designer to create a campaign microsite.
The charity’s vision is to stop pollution in the ocean by raising awareness of plastic pollution. The campaign aims to educate not only the public but also large businesses and corporations on how best to reduce their waste, as well as recommending alternatives. The charity hopes to foster change and the mindset towards plastic, in return helping to save marine life and preserve habitats for years to come.
It’s a well known fact that plastic can now be found in every corner of the world and that plastic is being eaten by all manner of marine life, which we are also ingesting. The charity spreads awareness in a number of ways but their most unique selling point is inviting volunteers on diving trips to see the destruction the waste is having on the environment.
Volunteers take to the sea and go on short diving trips to collect floating plastic, when they return, the volunteers are shown the different ways that each type of plastic can be recycled, and are also shown alternatives which are biodegradable and safer for the environment.
Over the past couple of years they’ve built up a network of over 16,000 divers across the world who all share the same vision – a plastic free ocean.
They need a brand new microsite totally dedicated to the volunteering part of their charity called ‘Dive for lives’. Volunteers will be directed here from the main website when enquiring about how to get involved with the charity.
