Brief overview
The European Tourism Association are running an international design competition in the hope of inspiring many of Europe's most popular landmarks to join a new European Tourism Collective.
The ETA is asking designers to create a full brand identity - including accompanying merchandise - for a European landmark of their choice. The landmark must be architectural. The aim is to inspire tourists from across the globe to not only visit, but also to take home a souvenir as a reminder of their visit. The brand identity must convey a feeling of excitement while still having some relevance to the landmark's geographic location or historic back story.
Your chosen landmark may be one of Europe's most popular, or it could be one of the more obscure ones in need of a new lease of life.
Pick your landmark and do some research into its origins, its creation and its story. Next, create a logo or a series of logos that reflect your findings. Remember, this needs to be able to be interpreted and enjoyed by people of all nationalities and languages, from across the globe. It must be international in its appeal while also evoking a sense of place.
