Assuming the book would be released as a hardback first, I designed a full book jacket with inside sleeves. Photographed some of my own baking ingredients but ideally if designing this for real would use ingredients that match the chef's own.
I was keen on the idea of using the baking ingredients as the illustration tools to bring out the experimental quality of the book.
In addition to the cover is a sample recipe page (obviously the recipe titles would be the chef's own creations) to show how I'd illustrate the inner pages. Placeholder text has been used as a sample filler for larger areas.
I have also enclosed two extra inner page background ideas. Ideally I would match the border to the feature of the recipe (e.g. fruit pieces for fruit pastries). The text on these two is just an example of where I'd place the writing icing (might even use different colours if recipe wasn't chocolate related).
