Hey Melanie, thanks for sharing your submission with us. Your illustration set is great! It's really consistent in style. Did you use something as reference or are they all originals? The colour palette is playful which answers the brief nicely and roles out well on to the inner spread design. Perhaps you could balance the playful illustrations and colour palette with a more modern and clean typeface. It's a good idea to look at other cookbooks on the market to see how it will sit next to them on a shelf. The inner spread works nicely, it might be nice to break the page fold, for example the image could go across both pages. Altogether this is a really nice piece of work, can't wait to see more of your work. Thanks again! Keep 'em coming :)

Thank you for your feedback! The baking icons come from freepik, I've changed the colours and put them toghether to create the cover, I will draw some on my own when I will have more time. I will take a look at other cook books. Do you think a sans serif would work well with the cover? I'll also try to break the page fold as per your suggestion.

Hey Melanie, yeah I think it's important to create some custom illustrations as the cook book is a personal project for the chef and the illustrations should replicate that. I think once you've had a look at other cook books you'll be able to tell if a sans serif will work on the cover. Good luck!
