I wanted to hit on all the requirements, with particular emphasis on achieving a clean, modern, and simple look with plenty of meaning.
For the logo I wanted to draw the connection that Britain and bees are iconically ruled by a Queen. So I used simple shapes to create a crown superimposed by a hexagonal honey comb shape. I wanted it to rest on a unconventional front profile of a bee\'s head. I wasn\'t so sure the combined look of the logo appeared like a crowned bee\'s head. Although at first glance the visual delivery probably isn\'t immediate, I liked that it might force the audience to take a deeper look and might create intrigue which happened to be mentioned in the brief.
I wanted to be very unconventional with this design for a honey jar, so I chose a black jar which I felt flowed nicely with a simple black and white label composition. I thought the contrast would give a bold appearance.
