The company, Coffee & Co, wanted a typographic design that would allow them to stand out from their competitors. They wanted a word mark that would be iconic, something that would look strong, as if it had always been apart of London's culture.
Using a high-contrast serif, along with a flexible san-serif typeface, the pairing gives lots of contrast and clarity. They suggested keeping the design as a duo-tone, to conserve on production costs. All tints/shades were created using opacity and layers of the 2-tone design. Along with small illustrative accents, the typographic design is rounded out by reinforcing their London roots, and dedication as baristas.
