The central idea of this design is to convey an ‘artisan’ feel reflecting the product’s position at the premium, luxury end of the market while maintaining a clean modern aesthetic. I wanted to create something with an understated elegance and simplicity following the preference for 'less is more' in the brief.
The design is intended to be flexible, with a clean simple typographic logo that can be adapted for various print and digital media uses.
The handwritten font along with my bee, hive and flower sketches are intended to be artistic and unique to this product, something that reflects what an artisan product is and helps the product stand out among the increasing number of luxury honey’s on store shelves.
I spent a lot of time thinking about the hierarchy of messages and what to emphasise on the label, ie. logo versus product name / description. I noticed that some honey jars in stores have a very prominent logo or business name, while others emphasise the flavour or type of honey. Hopefully this design achieves a reasonable balance between the two and puts the provenance of the honey front and centre.
This submission includes a logo and icon, alternative logo versions, wrap around label design, alternative jar design with transparent label, icons and leaflet design.
This is my first submission on BriefBox but I’ve really enjoyed working on it and seeing all the amazingly diverse and creative submissions from other users.
Any feedback is genuinely appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to look at my design.
