A high profile, women's luxury sportswear brand is sponsoring a marathon run in London, Hyde Park. The are looking to commission a designer to come up with a fun and playful legging design for the runners to wear during the race, helping raise the profile of their brand. This designer kit will be auctioned off online after the run to raise funds for a number of charities. For this brief, we have kept this deliberately open-ended so you can really have fun here with the pattern designs, and let your imagination run wild!
To get started on this brief, research current colour palettes and patterns used within modern sportswear brands. Collect all your best imagery together, set-up a mood-board and get sketching! The client is looking for something playful and eye-catching, so think about what colours and eye-catching patterns that you would like to use within this design. You could also choose to include some illustrative elements with your chosen design. The choice is entirely up to you!
Next, pick out your favourite design and digitally scan it up into illustrator. Have a play with the scale and dimensions of your design and the different colour schemes that you could use. Keep working on your design until you're happy with it. Remember if you get stuck at any point, refer back to your original inspiration and when in doubt, always try to keep the final design concept nice and simple! To complete the brief, place your design into a mock-up and upload it to Briefbox so the community can view your work!
