Use this brief to really showcase your skills as an illustrator. Enjoy the initial research and sketching stages! Don’t be afraid to show initial sketches. This can reduce the time taken working on images which may be rejected further down the line and it gives you a chance to showcase your raw talents. Take time researching the fashion label’s in-house style. Look at the company’s key design principles and what colours they tend to go for. It’s important to take this on board when creating your designs, though remember, they have made the decision to commission you as a superstar designer so make sure you add your flair and personality to the designs! Also, remember that the client has a strong, modern, aesthetic and so keep this in mind whilst compiling mood boards and initial textile designs.
