Bearing in mind the company have quite a specific brief here, you should begin the project with one or two initial ‘guide templates’. This is a great way to start the project and the designer can then offer the client one or two alternative directions before going ahead with all the remaining pages. Begin with setting up your master templates in Indesign and source the internet for beautiful photography to use throughout the publication (obviously in real life the client would provide product photography but this is just for personal development so sourcing images online is fine). Consider putting together a mini style guide of type usage and colour palettes before getting started to help ensure you create a truly outstanding portfolio piece here and don’t forget to submit all the deliverables once complete for feedback.
